Honey for the Montreal Public Markets
Montreal's public markets is the grouping of Montreal's 15 public markets, including marche jean talon, and atwater market. They're looking to expand their line of products and encourage local growing and shopping.
Montreal’s Public Markets are looking to redesign their 3 honey packages to encourage healthier eating. It's meant to appeal to both kids, and the parents who would be purchasing the product. The packaging has tight and strict guidelines for what needs to be seen and included on it, and I needed to work around those constraints to create something fun and interesting.
It was important to keep the packaging and label appealing to both kids and adults. This in itself made the decision for the label to be fun, colorful and illustrative, but to be put on modern and clean jars.
Tons of color palettes were made to fit the three seasons, but were easily finalized by discussing what reminded you of that time of the year.
After noticing the summer palette looked very floral, pattern illustrations were made to fit montreal. Seen on the packaging are the Montréal echinacea, to really enforce the idea of Montreal made products in the summertime.
My favorite concept was accepted thankfully and I was so happy with the outcome. It's so colorful and fun, a very nice twist on those honey bear bottles you see in stores. It's easy to stay fun but get away from things that have been done before.
